The FirstClass email/conferencing system was retired on May 25, 2018
What You Need to Know
- Will messages sent to FirstClass addresses be forwarded?
- Messages sent to a FirstClass email address will be forwarded to the person’s maine.edu Gmail account through May 31, 2020.
- What happens if I don’t have a maine.edu Gmail account?
- No messages will be forwarded to non maine.edu Gmail accounts.
- Can FirstClass email and stored files be retrieved?
- Requests to retrieve emails and files from the server will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

- What if I am part of a Listserv?
- If a FirstClass address was used to subscribe to listservs, contact the list owner to update the email address.
- What if I used my FirstClass address for external online accounts (social media, banking, shopping, etc)?
- If a FirstClass address was used for an external online account, contact the online account support for that site to update the email address.

- Faculty members who have transitioned from FirstClass course conferences to alternative solutions and need further assistance should contact CITL at citl@maine.edu or 207.581.3333.
- FirstClass departmental conference alternatives
- UMaine staff/students who need assistance setting-up an alternative space should email: fc-migration-questions-group@maine.edu
